After leaving the bases loaded in the fourth, Concordia bounced back in the fifth to score five runs, using five hits and taking advantage of bases-loaded opportunities to move ahead in the contest.

It was a similar story in the sixth, as the host squad scored seven runs off of a two-run homer, a bases-loaded walk, and a grand slam.

How It Happened
Sam Stanford knocked in two runs in the top of the seventh as Northwestern took down the No. 13-ranked Concordia Bulldogs in game two of Thursday's doubleheader.

The Raiders used small ball to plate the first run, as Drew Dykstra stole second following a hit-by-pitch and later came around to score on Stanford's RBI groundout.

Concordia went on to tie it up in the fourth, as an RBI single with runners at the corners pushed it to a 1-1 game.

With a trip to the Concordia bullpen starting the seventh, the Raiders put two on to start the inning and put pressure on the reliever. A few at-bats later, with two outs, Stanford again came through with a base hit through the left side to send Jack Craig and Bryce Click across. Jakeb Swallow continued his effective relief appearance to earn the win, knotting the series at 1-1 going into Friday's doubleheader.

Up Next: The Raiders and Bulldogs will meet in Seward for another doubleheader tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
