Wrestling Notches Win in Dual Finale

Five pins, one technical fall for the Raiders

FOREST CITY, Iowa – The Red Raider wrestling team (7-12, 2-6 GPAC) finished their dual season with a rout of Waldorf on Wednesday night, collecting five pins and a technical fall in their 47-12 victory.

"The guys were really aggressive tonight," head coach Rik Dahl noted. "It was rewarding to see them go out there with confidence and dictate the action. It was great to see Jake and Jose take advantage of their last duals and record two pins."

After two open weights, Johnny Burnette began the competition for the Raiders, starting with a technical fall at 141 to put his team up 17-0.

Waldorf picked up points from open weights at 149 and 157 before Northwestern won by fall in the next five bouts. Devin Padilla continued his impressive stretch with a pin in the third period at 165, followed by quick wins for Braeden Campbell and Jake Francksen-Small. The Raiders closed the evening with wins by fall for Pepe Sanchez and Jaxson Hildebrand.
