Orange City, Iowa– It was a foggy night in Orange City as the Raiders took on Dordt for the second time in a row.
It did not take long for the scoring party to start. In the 11th minute the Raiders took three shots on the net, only two of them were saved. Miller Rojas finished the attack by netting his first career goal.
The scoring stalled for a little while until the 28th minute when Dordt had a hand ball inside the box. Stan van den Beld lined up the penalty kick and knocked it in off the crossbar to make it 2-0.
At the half Northwestern led 2-0. They took 18 shots compared to Dordt's 1. It was also a physical half with 11 total fouls.
Only 5 minutes into the second half the Raiders were back in Dordt's box. Alex Ruiz found Drew Darnold for a tap in goal in the 50th minute to make it a 3-0 game.
Then in the 51st minute Riley Aarbo flicked a beautiful pass to Stan van den Beld for his second goal of the match and 11th on the season to make it 4-0.
Dordt scored one off a free kick, but Lars Geutjes added on one more off a Miles Baccam assist in the 79th minute.
Once the final horn sounded, the scoreboard read 5-1 in favor of the Raiders. Northwestern outshot the defenders 29 to 8 and had 17 shots on goal compared to Dordt's 4.
The three seeded Northwestern moves on to the GPAC semifinals where they will face the two seeded Concordia on Saturday.
