Northwestern Unable to Hold Off No. 16 Morningside

Lind picks up technical fall

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Kaleb Lind won by technical fall for the third time this week, but the Raider wrestling team fell to the Morningside Mustangs 40-11 on Wednesday night.

"It was a tough night tonight. We saw some bright spots in most matches, but we were just unable to sustain an offense for seven minutes at a time," head coach Rik Dahl stated. "Kaleb was a bright spot, recording his third tech fall in a week. We had several opportunities to score, but to get to the next level we need to finish better and stay in the fight longer.

Lind's dominant 15-0 win over Brenick Hoppe was the highlight of an otherwise difficult night for Northwestern, as Morningside won eight of the 10 bouts. The Mustangs proved their ranking with three pins, two major decisions and a technical fall.

The Raiders have a chance to bounce back in the conference race, facing five GPAC opponents over the next three weeks.

Up Next: The Raider wrestlers will host Briar Cliff inside the Bultman Center on Tuesday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m.
