American State Bank Raider Athletes of the Week

Kunert & Vander Waal earn the weekly Raider awards for their performances.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named men's track and field student-athlete Joseph Kunert and women's track and field student-athlete Jacie Vander Waal as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of April 24.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Joseph Kunert, Men's Track and Field

Kunert (Sr., Humboldt, Iowa) hit a personal best in the 3000 M Steeplechase at Saturday's Red Raider Open.
His time of 9:32.63 was just behind the NAIA provisional mark of 9:32.
Kunert finished first of six competitors in the event, including two of NCAA Division II standing.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jacie Vander Waal, Women's Track and Field

Vander Waal (So., Sioux Center, Iowa) hit the provisional mark in the high jump at last weekend's Red Raider Open.
Her mark of 1.65m tied a personal best.
The sophomore is first in the GPAC and ninth in the NAIA in the high jump.
