Dakota Wesleyan Downs Red Raiders on Home Pitch

Grace Timm tallies her first-career goal in the match

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern College women's soccer team (4-8, 2-5 GPAC) dropped a 3-1 decision at the NWC Soccer Complex to the Tigers of Dakota Wesleyan University (3-7, 2-4 GPAC) Wednesday night. Freshman Grace Timm nets her first-career goal in the second half for the lone Red Raider score.

Dakota Wesleyan would strike first in the match with a goal in the 15th minute. A goal from Annika Enevoldsen would make it 1-0 Tigers and the score would hold after the first 45 minutes of action from the NWC Soccer Complex. DWU held the advantage in shots in the first half, 11-6 while both team's keepers notched four saves.

In the 54th minute, Julie Dunlap (Sr., Des Moines, Iowa) had a solid look from the top of the box and a strong strike, but a nice snag by the Tiger keeper to keep it 1-0 in favor of Dakota Wesleyan.

Just a few moments later on a Red Raider counterattack would lead to a corner kick. Dunlap would take the kick in the 57th minute and a beautiful ball into the box would see Timm (Fr., Center City, Minn.) would net the equalizer with a brilliant header goal to the bottom right corner of the net off the Dunlap corner.

In the 66th minute, Timm looked to put the Red Raiders ahead with a shot that went just high over the cross bar as Northwestern continued to keep the offensive pressure on the Tigers in the second half.

Dakota Wesleyan would strike again in the 78th minute as Enevoldsen would strike for her second goal of the match, giving the Tigers the 2-1 lead. It would prove to be the game-winning goal for DWU. Finally, in the 84th minute, Enevoldsen would complete the hat trick for Dakota Wesleyan to make it 3-1.
