Game Time... The Northwestern College Softball team will host a pair of conference double headers against Doane and Hastings this Friday and Saturday, April 16th and 17th. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3pm, followed by game two at 5pm. The games on Saturday are set for 1pm and 3pm.Â

All-Time... Northwestern leads the all-time series 43-25 against Doane, dating back to the 1992 season. The teams split their double header in the 2019 season, Northwestern losing the first game 0-2, and winning the second game 12-2 (5 innings). The Raiders have a 51-17 advantage in the rivalry against Hastings, winning both games in the 2019 season with scores of 6-0 and 8-2.Â

The Doane Univeristy Tigers come into Friday's games with a 17-18 overall record and a 4-6 record in the GPAC, tied with Dordt for seventh place. The Tigers are looking for their first win since March 28th, having lost six straight, falling to Midland, Concordia, and Morningside in doubleheaders. They were picked eighth in the GPAC preseason poll, after a 7-15 overall record in 2020.
Head Coach Jordan Olson is in her first year at Doane. After graduating from Mayville State, she served as a graduate assistant at Doane from 2014-16. Prior to returning to Doane in August 2020, she coached at Davis and Elkins Unviersity (W.V.) where she accumulated 68 wins in three-plus seasons.

The Hastings College Broncos are currently ninth in the GPAC with a conference record of 3-7, 11-20 overall. The Broncos have dropped seven of their last eight games, splitting games with College of Saint Mary on April 10th for their only win. They were picked 11th in the GPAC preseason poll after a 5-12 overall record in 2020. The Broncos will play Dordt on Friday, April 16th, before facing the Raiders on Saturday.Â
Head Coach Troy Baker is in his 15th year with the Broncos, after taking over the position in the fall of 2008. In 2009, he returned the Broncos to the NAIA national tournament after a 10- year drought. He was the head coach for Hastings in 1998 and 1999, in which he also led the Broncos to nationals.
