ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The No. 20-ranked Northwestern College men's soccer team (16-3-1, 10-1 GPAC) fell short in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) conference tournament final tonight against (RV) Hastings College (12-4-2, 8-2-1 GPAC) at the NWC Soccer Complex.
Amidst the snowy and windy conditions, the Raider attack couldn't muster up much against a solid Hastings backline as the Raiders were out-shot 20-6 on the match. Both teams would battle it out in the first half, the match scoreless at halftime.
The Broncos would continue to hold most of the possession at the start of the second half and would find the back of the goal for the first score in the game in the 51
st minute. Three minutes later (54
th minute), Hastings would net their insurance goal to take the 2-0 lead.
Up Next: The Raiders will await their opponent for the Opening Round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament when the league office announces the field on Monday, November 15 at 12:00 p.m. (CT) on the NAIA Facebook page.
