Women's Soccer Rounds Out Recruiting Class

The Red Raider women's soccer program rounded out their recruiting class with six more signings this semester.

Emma Dunsbergen (Newton, Iowa) has been a stand out letter winner while at Pella Christian High School. Dunsbergen has primarily played outside back but is comfortable playing across the back line.
"Emma is a quick and talented outside player," commented head coach Ben Karnish. "She is someone who can make plays on the back line but also in the attack when given the freedom and we are really excited to see what she can bring to our style of play!"
Dunsbergen is planning on studying Nursing while at Northwestern.

Anna DeWitt (Juniata, Neb) has stood out in central Nebraska with her attacking abilities. She has played in multiple attacking roles up top and in the midfield while at Hastings High School and will use her speed well at the college level.
"We are excited to have Anna," commented coach Karnish. "She is quick but more importantly, she is relentless on the field. Her energy is always high and she is not only a great attacker, she defends very well. She will be able to use those strengths early on at NWC."
DeWitt is planning to study Nursing while at Northwestern.

Dewitt, Anna

Anna Van Zee (Pella, Iowa) has also been a mainstay on the back line while at Pella Christian High School. The center back is a good decision maker and shows patience in her defending. "We are excited to see Anna continue to defend the way she did at Northwestern. She is someone that will adapt well to the college game and is a quick learner which will only help."
Van Zee plans to study Nursing while at Northwestern.

Leah Bassett (Lincoln, Neb.) has been a solid central defender and central midfielder while playing at Lincoln Lutheran. She is a strong defender who knows how to tackle well. "Leah is someone who is going to put in some strong tackles in the middle of the field. She is smart in her defending but is good in her distribution once she wins the ball."
Bassett is planning to study Exercise Science while at Northwestern

Jillian Simon (Parkersburg, Iowa) is a forward that has had very good success while playing for Applington-Parkersburg High School. She is creative in her runs off the ball and is a technical finisher in front of goal.
"Jillian is someone that will be very good at opening up space and exploiting it in any attacking system. She times her runs well and is able to communicate those runs well to her teammates."
Simon plans to study Public Relations and Christian Ed / Youth Ministries while at Northwestern.

Abigail Dahl (Orange City, Iowa) is a central midfielder who has showed growth in the position over the years. She is a strong defender and tackler and does a great job protecting her back line.
"Abby is someone who has the drive to develop and grow after missing out on some soccer during high school. She is coachable and brings an effort that is seen and felt by her teammates."
Dahl plans to study Graphic Design while at Northwestern.
