Softball Earns Split on Final Day of Spring Break Trip

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Northwestern College softball team went 1-1 on the final day of its Spring Break Trip in Tucson, Ariz., losing to #14 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) 5-2 and earning a 10-2 win against University of St.Francis (Ill.). 

The Red Raiders are now 14-6 on the season and conclude their Tucson Trip with a 9-3 record. 

vs #14 Olivet Nazarene: 5-2 loss

Northwestern was limited to three hits by two Olivet Nazarene pitchers in its 5-2 loss. The Red Raiders led 2-0, scoring two in the bottom of the third on an RBI double by Emily Bosch and sacrifice fly by Jennifer Boeve.  

Olivet Nazarene came back with three runs in the top of the fifth, chasing Red Raider starter Samantha Ubben. The Tigers added one run in both the sixth and seventh innings. 

Ubben allowed seven hits and three earned runs in 4.2 innings. Emma Schnell pitched the final 2.1 innings, giving up three hits and two runs. Bosch, Alayna Bakke and Bri Giordano all had one hit.

Kori Fricke earned the win for ONU, giving up just one hit over the final 4.2 innings. Alli Davis and Kelly Rinker each had two hits.
