Softball Continues Excellent Play; Wins Two

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Emma Schnell shut down Antelope Valley in game one and the Red Raider offense dominated Valley City State in game two as Northwestern won a pair of games today in Tucson, Ariz. 

The Red Raiders are now 7-1 on their spring break trip and improved to 12-4 overall. 

Game One: 2-1 win vs Antelope Valley

Schnell pitched a complete-game victory in leading the Red Raiders to a 2-1 win over Antelope Valley. Jordyn Kramer drove in the winning run with an RBI single in the fourth inning, scoring Jennifer Boeve

Game Two: 14-10 win vs Valley City State

Down 7-5, Northwestern scored nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 14-10, come-from-behind win against Valley City State in game two. 

Head Coach Shane Bouman's squad sent 13 batters to the plate in the seven-hit, nine-run sixth inning. Kramer hit a two-run single, Jessica Harald had an RBI single and Lauren Pavich hit a pinch-hit, two-run double in the inning.

Samantha Ubben (W) pitched the final three innings to get the win, giving up five hits, three runs and striking out three. 

Northwestern totaled 14 hits, led by Boeve (3/4, 2 runs, 2 RBI), Emily Bosch (2/4, 2 runs), Kramer (2/4, 2 RBI) and Schnell (2/4, run). 

Bouman's squad will play Occidental and Aquinas on Saturday.
