Thursday, March 19, 2020

Lorenzo Jones (Orlando, Fla.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football and track and field careers at Northwestern College next fall.

Jones is a 6'1", 180-pound wide receiver who played two years for Edgewater High School. Jones caught a team-high eight touchdown passes in leading his team to a state runner-up finish with a 13-2 record. Jones plans to study Business Administration at Northwestern and is the son of Brenda Brown.

"Lorenzo is a gifted athlete who has both the size and speed to be a great receiver," commented Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. "He has the potential to be a tremendous playmaker for our offense."

A two-year letter winner in track and field, Jones was a state qualifier in both the long jump and triple jump for Edgewater High School. He has a personal best triple jump of 44'8.25" and ranks second all-time for his high school program in the event.

"We are excited to welcome Lorenzo to our Northwestern track and field team," said Head Coach Scott Bahrke. "He is gifted athlete who has the traits to be an outstanding jumper for us."
