Davor Jakovljevic (Santiago, Chile) has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Northwestern College beginning the upcoming spring semester.

2021 Jakovljevic RecruitJakovljevic will enter Northwestern as a junior after completing two years at Jacksonville College. He started 22 games in two seasons at center back under head coach Martin Melchor. Jakovljevic was named to the Region XIV all-academic team in 2019.

"While we have a lot of young talent along our back line, bringing in someone with experience will be extremely beneficial," said Northwestern soccer coach Dan Swier.  "Davor competed in one of the toughest NJCAA conferences in the country.  He knows how to compete at a high level, and we are pleased that he has chosen to finish his academic and athletic careers at Northwestern."

Jakovljevic, the son of Tomislav and Claudia, plans to major in sports management at Northwestern.

"I chose Northwestern because it feels like a special place and because the soccer program is so strong," stated Jakovljevic when asked why he chose to transfer to Northwestern.
