Game Time... The Northwestern College men's soccer team concludes the fall season with a road match against Jamestown this weekend. Saturday's match is set to begin at 1pm. Northwestern has won five consecutive matches and is in fourth place in the current GPAC standings with a 7-3 record, 9-3 overall. Jamestown is currently seventh in the GPAC standings at 5-5, 5-6 overall.Â

All-Time...Saturday's match will be just the sixth all-time in the rivalry between the two schools. Northwestern leads the series 3-2, including two straight wins the last two seasons. The Raiders came away with a 2-1 win last year; all three goals were scored in the first half.
Matt Roll scored the Raiders first goal and Josh Wingfield assisted on the game-winner scored just before halftime.

The Jimmies have not played since their 11-2 win against Presentation on Nov.11. Prior to that victory, they lost consecutive matches to the Sioux City teams, Briar Cliff and Morningside, where they were outscored by a combined 9-0 margin. Win or lose, Jamestown will finish seventh in the conference standings and will the No.7 seed in the GPAC tournament in the spring.
Nienhaus is finishing up his eighth season as the head of the Jamestown men's soccer program, taking over prior to the 2013 season. He is the winningest coach in program history and led Jamestown to a 4-5-2 GPAC record, 8-9-2 overall, last season.

Dan Swier's squad is playing some of its best soccer of the season heading into Saturday's match, winning five straight and seven of its last eight. They are fourth in the GPAC standings with a 7-3 record, 9-3 overall; a win on Saturday clinched the No.4 spot in the standings and a home match next spring in the GPAC quarterfinals. Northwestern has wins against Midland, Doane, Morningside, Presentation and Mount Marty during their current streak.
