Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bolger Nets Hattrick in Win Over Mount Marty

Northwestern College scored three second half goals and fended off Mount Marty 3-1 in a GPAC men's match, extending their season high win-streak to 5 matches.

The Raiders' continuation of their win-streak improves their record in the GPAC to 7-3 and 9-3 overall. Mount Marty falls to 1-8-2 in the GPAC and 2-9-2 overall

The first half was back and forth in between the boxes. Both teams only put up three shots on goal in the first 45 minutes.

The second half was a different story. The Raiders began the half high pressing and turning over Mount Marty in their own half, creating opportunities for the Raiders. They would finally capitalize on those chances with a 61st minute goal from James Bolger's head off a header assist from Tim Kaltenberger

Bolger would double his tally four minutes later in the 65th minute after Sebastian Aguero, Mount Marty's goalkeeper, came out of his box to help his back line on a clearance but his header went straight to Bolger who chipped Aguero and the Lancer back line for a cheeky finish.

The match hit a boiling point in the 68 minute when Jake Foscalina ran into Aguero on a 50/50 ball and Aguero started to swing at Foscalina while they were on the ground, resulting in a red card for Aquero and a yellow card for Foscalina. Mount Marty played well with a player down and used that energy to earn a penalty kick in the 80th minute. Joey Callan would finish the penalty making the remaining ten minutes tense. It was tense until Bolger capped off his hat trick.

Bolger's final goal in the 89th minute was the best of them all with a rocket from outside the box into the upper ninety, far post, off an assist from Seth Druin. Bolger now has seven goals on the year after his big night.

Ezekiel Foltz made six saves on the night.

The Raiders conclude their fall portion of the season at Jamestown on November 21.
