Juan Mackrey netted a pair of second half goals in leading Northwestern to a 2-1 win over Dordt in a conference match-up played tonight in Orange City. The Raiders even their league record at 2-2, 4-2 overall; Dordt drops to 2-7 in the conference, 3-9 overall.
Scoreless at the half, Mackrey received a corner kick from
Matt Roll and headed it past Defender goalkeeper Brandon Hanson to put Northwestern in front 1-0 seven minutes into the final half. The senior then scored his second goal off an errant Defender pass during the 78th minute.
Dordt netted its only goal late, during the 85th minute, by Quintin Olson.
Northwestern held an 11-2 advantage on shot on-goal; three by
Brennan Haggerty and two each by Josh Wingfield,
James Bolger and Mackrey.
Ezekiel Foltz totaled one save and picked up his fourth win of the season.
