Northwestern Looks to Bounce Back After OT Loss

The Raiders (1-1) look to bounce back after a heartbreaking overtime defeat to Florida National University Friday night with a match against Friends University (Kan.) Monday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 3:15pm at the NWC Soccer Complex.

Northwestern battled back in a tight match Friday night after being down for almost 60 minutes to score a late equalizer in the 73rd minute. The Raiders would put the pressure on especially after FNU earned their first of 3 red cards on the night but NWC could not find the game winner. Florida National won in overtime off a header on a set piece.

Five separate Raiders have a goal on the year while Mateus Frietas and Gijs Dingemans have the only two assists. James Warren has 6 saves on the season and has only allowed 2 goals.

The Friends University Falcons are 1-1 on the year and are coming off a 5-0 win over Dordt University on Saturday afternoon. Their loss came to fellow GPAC foe Midland University to a score of 1-3.

The Falcons have been lead offensively by Isaiah Castillo who has 3 goals and 2 assists on the young season. Jesus Herrera Rivera has a 0.727 save percentage in net and has made 8 saves.
