Gilbert To Run Track At Northwestern

James Gilbert Jr. (Orlando, Fla.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field career at Northwestern College.

13906Gilbert enjoyed an outstanding two-year career competing for the Edgewater High School track and field team. The 5'9" sprinter and jumper earned all-state honors and qualified for the state meet in both the long jump and high jump. Gilbert won the district title and has a personal best long jump of 6.91m. He also has personal bests of 1.97m in the high jump, 13.71 in the triple jump and a 50.87 in the 400m. Gilbert plans to major in sports management at Northwestern and is the son of James Gilbert Sr. and Vontia Anthony.

"We are thrilled to have James join our Northwestern track and field team this fall," commented Red Raider track and field coach Scott Bahrke. "He is a very talented and gifted jumper and athlete who will help us score points at both the conference and national levels."
