Blare To Play Football At Northwestern

Elijah Blare (Hamill, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Blare is a 6'3", 220-pound offensive lineman and defensive end who had standout four-year career playing for Winner High School. Blare accounted for 27 tackles, one quarterback sack and one fumble recovery in leading his team to the state playoffs with a 7-3 record. He earned all-conference honors for the second year and played for back-to-back state championship teams in 2015 and 2016. A member of both the honor roll and National Honor Society, Blare plans to study History at Northwestern. He is the son of Rusty and Rita.

"Elijah is a long, physical defensive end who has outstanding potential," said Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. "He played for a good high school program, has been coached well and feel that he will excel in our defense."
