Northwestern came up short in a pair of non-conference games played tonight against Waldorf 13-11 and 6-3. The Red Raiders move to 9-15 on the season.

The Red Raiders totaled 16 hits in game one and scored eight runs over the final two innings to cut the Waldorf lead down to two, 13-11. Six Red Raiders had multiple hits, led by Britton Yoder who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Drew Schutt went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs and Colton Harold belted his second home run of the season, a three-run shot in the bottom of the seventh to go with a pinch-hit RBI single in the sixth.

Shad Wacker (0-2) was the pitcher of record for NWC, giving up five hits and six runs in two innings pitched. Andrew Mescher (3 IP) and Trent Thinesen (2 IP) finished off the game in relief.

The Red Raiders came back with three runs in the third, cutting the Waldorf lead in half on a three-run home run by Schutt, his fourth of the season. With the score 6-3, Waldorf added a run in the fifth and four more in the sixth to take an 11-3 lead, using a three-run home run by Stenlund in the sixth. Northwestern rallied with four runs off five straight singles and a double by Schutt in the home half of the sixth to cut the lead to 11-8.

The Warriors plated two big insurance runs in the top of the seventh before Northwestern again rallied, scoring four more runs in the bottom of the seventh, triggered by a three-run home run by Harold.
