Clayberg To Play Football At Northwestern

Cade Clayberg (Tea, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Clayberg is a 5'11", 165-pound wide receiver and long snapper who had a standout four-year career playing for the Tea Area High School football team. Clayberg earned all-state honors as a long snapper and all-conference honors at receiver in leading his team to the state championship last fall, finishing with an 11-1 record. He was named the team's best receiver in 2017 and was selected as a team captain as both a junior and senior. An academic all-state pick, Clayberg plans to major in business at Northwestern. He is the son of Craig and Michelle.

"Cade is an outstanding player who helped lead his team to the state championship last fall," commented Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. "Cade understands the game, is a competitor and has a team-first mentality. We are excited to have Cade become a Red Raider and for the positive impact he will have on our program."
