Joseph Kunert (
Humboldt, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and cross country career at Northwestern College next fall.

Kunert has competed four years in cross country and three in track heading into his final season this spring for Humboldt High School. Kunert helped lead his team to the state cross country meet three years, finishing ninth as team and 29
th as an individual his senior season. He earned all-conference three times and was part of teams that won the conference championship two years. Kunert has personal bests of 2:07 in the 800m, 4:50 in the 1600m, 10:12 in the 3200m and 16:15 in the 5K. An honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, Kunert plans to major in History and Secondary Education at Northwestern. He is the son of Steve and Sherry.
"Joseph is a wonderful addition to the Red Raider cross country and track and field teams," commented Northwestern head coach
Scott Bahrke. "He has had a solid high school career and has tremendous potential as a collegiate runner. Joseph is a great teammate, possesses top-notch work ethic and we are excited to have him compete as a Red Raider over the next four years."
