Kickoff on Rollie Greeno Field at Taylor Stadium is scheduled for 1pm Saturday. The Red Raiders bring a 1-0 record into the weekend while the host Jimmies are 1-1 so far this season.Â

The Rivalry...This will be the fourth overall meeting between the two teams and first since the 2002 season. Northwestern leads the series 2-1, earning wins both in the 2001 and 2002 seasons. They lost to Jamestown in 2000.

Jacob Kalogonis rushed for over 100 yards andÂ
Tyson Kooima accounted for three touchdowns in leading seventh-ranked Northwestern to a 28-10 road win over Valley City State in its season opener. Valley City State fell to 0-2 on the season.
Kalogonis rushed 27 times for 124 yards and a touchdown, eclipsing 100 yards for the 13th time in his career. The junior averaged over four yards per carry and also caught one pass for 19 yards. The passing game was just as effective as Kooima competed 15-of-28 attempts for 266 yards and two scores while adding 43 yards rushing and a score.Â
The Red Raiders dominated the stats line, totaling 443 yards compared to 241 yards by Valley City State. Northwestern had the advantage in first downs (22-13), rushing yards (177-72), passing yards (266-169) and time of possession (32-28).Â

Jared Nelson totaled three catches for a team-high 98 yards.
Defensively, Northwestern was impressive, forcing Valley City State to punt eight times and registering three quarterback sacks. Junior linebackerÂ
Sean Powell made a career-high 18 tackles and totaled 1.5 sacks whileÂ
Garrett Sayler had seven tackles. Jed Van't Hof andÂ
Colin Snyder recorded the other sacks for Northwestern.Â
Jamestown was shutout against 13th-ranked Dickinson State on the road, 51-0. The Jimmies fell behind 21-0 by the end of the first quarter and trailed 42-0 after a 21-point third quarter by Dickinson State. Jamestown gained 186 yards of total offense, 121 rushing and just 65 through the air. Jimmy Hatch rushed 17 times for 68 yards while quarterback Jordan Mann completed 5-of-20 passes for 65 yards and two interceptions. Caleb Ellingson highlighted the defensive effort with 10 tackles and Gavin Pancirov totaled four tackles and registered one sack.
Scouting Report on Jamestown:Â 1-1Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Head Coach: Josh Kittrell (3rd year)
Formerly a member of the North Star Athletic Association and Dakota Athletic Conference, Jamestown is in its first year in the GPAC. They were picked 10th in the preseason coaches' poll and ninth in the media poll.Â
The Jimmies are 1-1 so far this season, earning a narrow 2-point win (28-26)Â in week one over their rival, Valley City State, in the Paint Bucket Series.
Head Coach Josh Kittrell is in his third season with the Jimmies, returning 12 starters from a 2017 team that went 2-6 in the conference, 2-9 overall. Kittrell was a standout quarterback for the Jimmies and has also served as the offense quality control coach for near-by North Dakota State. They were defeated by two GPAC teams in 2017, losing to both Hastings and Dakota Wesleyan.
Jamestown last made the NAIA FCS in 2007 when they lost to Morningside in the first round. The Jimmies first season of football was in 1914

    In 2017...Northwestern finished second in the GPAC in 2017 with a 7-1 record and qualified for the NAIA FCS for the first time since 2014. They earned their first FCS win since 2006 with a 55-7 blowout over No.7 and previously unbeaten Langston (Okla.) before bowing out to eventual champion University of Saint Francis (Ind.) 30-3. 16 starters and 26 letterwinners return from last season.
