Daniel Strand (Sioux Falls, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field career at Northwestern College this fall.

Strand competed three years for the Sioux Falls Christian High School track and field team. Strand qualified for the state meet multiple years and helped lead his team to the state championship as a junior. He earned all-state honors after finishing fifth at the state meet in the high jump and has personal bests of 6'2" in the high jump, 11.8 in the 100m and 22.9 in the 200m. Strand earned academic all-state honors and plans to major in Nursing at Northwestern. He is the son of Dave and Gayle.

"Dan is a talented athlete who excelled in high school in both the sprints and high jump," said Northwestern head coach Scott Bahrke. "We are happy to have Dan join our Red Raider track and field team and we are excited to see how God will use him during these next four years."
