Courtney Lucas (
Inver Grove, Minn.
) has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College this fall.
Lucas is a 5'4" infielder who played five years for the Simley High School softball team. Lucas hit .400 with a pair of home runs and eight stolen bases in leading her team to the postseason. She earned all-conference honors for the second consecutive year and received the Silver Slugger Award, awarded to the player with the best batting average. Lucas is the daughter of Mike and Jackie.
"Courtney is a great addition to the Red Raider softball family," said Northwestern head coach
Chris Nachtigall. "She is an excellent athlete who has outstanding work ethic and is a good teammate. I am confident that she will not only be a great addition to our softball program but will also be a positive influence on the Northwestern campus community."
