Groen To Run Cross Country, Track at Northwestern

Lindsey Groen (Sioux Falls, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her cross country and track and field careers at Northwestern College next year.5738

Groen is a 5'6" middle distance/distance runner who has competed four years in both cross country and track and field for Sioux Falls Christian High School. Groen earned all-conference recognition in cross country last fall and has a personal best of 20:29 in the 5K. She received the leadership award for both sports the last three years and has personal bests in track of 12:57 in the 3200m, 6:02 in the 1600m and 2:49 in the 800m. A member of the National Honor Society, Groen plans to major in Biochemistry at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Christopher and Lexia.

"We are excited to have Lindsey join our Red Raider cross country and track and field teams next fall," commented Northwestern head coach Scott Bahrke. "She is a talented distance runner who will continue to improve during her time at Northwestern. Lindsey has outstanding work ethic and is a great teammate. I look forward to see how God will use Lindsey and her talents at Northwestern College."
