Matthew Williams (
Fredericktown, Mo.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Williams is a 5'9", 170-pound running back, defensive back and kick returner who played four seasons for the Fredericktown R-1 High School football team. Williams totaled 73 tackles, five interceptions, two fumble recoveries and two defensive scores in earning third team all-state honors. On offense, Williams rushed for 1,054 yards and 11 touchdowns to go with 29 catches for 271 yards and four scores, receiving all-conference honors. He also earned first team all-conference honors on special teams after totaling over 500 yards as a returner. Williams received all-conference honors after his sophomore and junior years on offense, defense, and special teams as well. He plans to major in sports management at Northwestern and is the son of David and Shawnnett.

Matt McCarty. "He was great speed, agility and had an outstanding high school career. Matt will be an outstanding addition to our offense."
