Zeutenhorst To Play Football at Northwestern

Brendan Zeutenhorst (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Zeutenhorst is a 6'6", 220-pound tight end and defensive end who had a standout, three-year career playing for Sioux Center High School. Zeutenhorst totaled 56 catches for 661 yards and 14 touchdowns in earning second team all-state honors as a senior. He was also named to the Des Moines Register All-State team as a tight end/wide receiver and earned all-Northwest Iowa Review honors. Zeutenhorst accounted for 16.5 tackles and three quarterback sacks on defense and helped lead his team to the state playoffs with an 8-2 record. Zeutenhorst also earned all-conference honors in basketball and is the son of Dan Zeutenhorst and Deb Ver Hoef.

"Brendan is a phenomenal athlete," said Northwestern head football coach Matt McCarty. "He is one of the top players in Northwest Iowa and we are excited to have him become a Red Raider. Brendan ranked first in all of class 2A in touchdown receptions and will be a great weapon in our offense."
