Game Time... No.6 Northwestern College will make the trip west to play Hastings in a GPAC match-up this weekend in Hastings, Neb. Kickoff at Lloyd Wilson Field is scheduled for 1pm. Northwestern dropped its first game of the season last weekend, losing to top-ranked Morningside 42-34, to fall to 5-1 in the GPAC, 6-1 overall. Hastings defeated Concordia 21-13 last weekend to move to 2-4 in the GPAC and 4-4 overall.

Matt McCarty's squad leads the all-time series 19-10, dating back to the first ever match-up in 1986. Northwestern has won 11 straight in the rivalry and defeated Hastings 31-12 in the final game of the regular season in 2017. NWC's last defeat came in 2004 by a 20-14 score.

With its 21-13 road win over Concordia last weekend, Hastings evened its overall record to 4-4, 2-4 in league play. They are currently tied with Concordia for seventh place in the GPAC, one game in back of both Doane and Briar Cliff and a game up on the University of Jamestown. The Broncos have won two of their last three games after losing three straight to Briar Cliff, Dordt and Morningside. Hastings also has wins over Peru State and Oklahoma Panhandle State in non-conference play to start the season.
Coach Harper, in his eighth season with the Broncos, returns 14 starters from a 2017 team that finished eighth in the GPAC with a 2-6 record, 5-6 overall.
