Northwestern College lost a conference doubleheader to Doane, 11-0 and 11-9, played this afternoon in Orange City, Iowa. The Red Raiders fall to 4-6 in conference play, 13-16 overall.

The Red Raiders were limited to one hit in game one by Doane right-hander Caleb Goedeken (2-2), who lost his no-hit bid with two outs in the seventh after a single by Dustin Gaither. Goedeken walked one and struck out one.Â
Raphael DeHoyos (2-3) pitched well in defeat, giving up six hits and two runs in six innings. Doane scored nine runs off the Red Raiders bullpen in the top of the seventh.
Tommy Anderson went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and Trent Jeary was a perfect 3-for-3 to lead the Doane offense.Â
In game two, Doane scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning off Red Raider closer Austin Zylstra (0-2) to defeat the hosts 11-9 and earn the sweep.
Trailing 8-1, Northwestern rallied with a run in the fourth, four in the sixth and three more in the seventh inning to take a 9-8 lead. Colton Harold and Mark Primrose hit back-to-back home runs in the Red Raiders four-run sixth. Joe Done added an RBI single, scoring Casey Guthmiller.Â
Still down 8-6, Northwestern went ahead in the seventh as Mitchell Kresnik hit an RBI single and came around to score on Harold's second home run of the game, a two-run shot off James Ramos.Â
Doane responded with two runs off four hits in the eighth, getting an RBI single by Kevin Clausen and Eduardo Yanez. Kris Jackson hit a solo home run in the ninth for a Tiger's insurance run.
Zylstra gave up five hits and three runs in two innings. Chase Davis, the second Northwestern pitcher, went 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.Â
Gaither led the Red Raiders at the plate, going 4-for-5 and Done added three hits and an RBI. Guthmiller, Zylstra, Kresnik and Harold all had two hits for NWC.
