Isaac Horigan pitched five strong innings in leading Northwestern College past No.16 University of Jamestown 9-4 in the first game of the Red Raiders spring break trip in Tucson, Ariz. Northwestern improves to 5-4 on the year.
Horigan, now 3-0 on the year, held the Jimmies' bats in check, giving up five hits and two runs while striking out seven. Raphael DeHoyos pitched the final two innings in relief.
Mitchell Kresnik paced the Red Raiders' seven-hit attack, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Reed Smith went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and AJ Nitzsche added a two-run double.
Northwestern will play Dakota State on Wednesday.
