Northwestern College lost to No.18 Bellevue (Neb.) in a non-conference doubleheader, 11-1 and 2-1, played today at Westgate Field in Bellevue, Neb.

Anthony Contonio (3-0) picked up the win in relief, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings. Max Dwyer earned his fourth save for the Bruins with a scoreless seventh, despite giving up two hits.
Northwestern fell behind 5-0 after the first inning in its 11-1 game one loss. Bellevue chased NW starter Alec Rickabaugh (2-1) after 1.1 innings as the freshman gave up six hits and five runs. Four relievers combined to pitch the final 6.2 innings.
Reed Smith and Michael Callahan both had two hits to pace the Red Raiders seven-hit attack. Mark Primrose had an RBI single in the ninth.
Todd Nicks (4-2) pitched six scoreless innings to earn the win, giving up four hits, two walks and struck out nine. Nick also hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
