Raiders Clipped By Bulldogs In Overtime

Northwestern College opened the 2016 conference season with a 1-2 loss in overtime at Concordia University. Hartrick Tarr delivered the lone goal for the Raiders. Northwestern falls to 3-7 overall and now 0-1 in the conference.

Northwestern College played Concordia to a 0-0 tie until the 60th minute when Concordia broke through with a goal to push the score to 1-0.

The Raiders did answer back in the 85th minute when Hartrick Tarr was able to get the Raiders back in the match and draw the score to 1-1.

The match went to overtime and it did not take long for Concordia to get the goal to finish it. Marcelo Hernandez picked up his second goal on the game and clinched the win for the Bulldogs.

Keeper Mike Wick recorded eight saves in this one as the Bulldogs outshot the Raiders 16-6.

Up next for Northwestern

Raiders host two conference teams next week with Dakota Wesleyan coming to town on Wednesday, September 28, and Midland on Saturday, October 1st.
