Red Raiders Sweep GPAC Volleyball Honors

Three Northwestern College players swept GPAC volleyball honors this week as announced by the league office earlier today. Anna Kiel (Attacker), Lacey Wacker (Setter) and Karsyn Winterfeld (Defender) earned their respective awards for leading the Red Raiders to a 2-0 record last week. 

Kiel hit for 10+ kills in wins over No.5 Dordt and at Concordia, hitting a team-best .438 in the two match wins. The sophomore totaled 35 kills, averaging 4.3, per set, and has now hit for double figures in 14 straight matches. Kiel, who also earned the weekly GPAC honor on Sept. 5, ranks second in the NAIA with a .419 hitting percentage. 

Wacker averaged 11.8 assists and directed a Red Raider offense that hit .286 in the two matches. The freshman setter posted 40+ assists in each match and averaged 1.25 digs per set in earning the GPAC honor for the second consecutive week. Wacker leads the NAIA in total assists (684) and assists per set (12).

Winterfeld led the team in digs in both matches, averaging a team-best 4.1 per set. She went a perfect 44/44 in serve receive and also served three aces. Winterfeld leads the NAIA with 46 ace serves and has at least one ace in every match this season.
