Dante Preciado earned All-American honors after going 4-1 on day one of the NAIA Wrestling National Championships. He finished in 8th place at 141 lbs. for Northwestern.
Five Red Raider wrestlers have been named to the All-GPAC wrestling teams today highlighted by Dante Preciado (141), Andras Lukacs-Farkas (174), and Luis Rivera-Santiago (197) who were each named to the All-GPAC First Team.
Six Red Raiders have qualified for the NAIA Wrestling National Championship, presented by USA Wrestling-Kansas.The 60th annual event takes place March 3 – 4 at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka, Kan. The first of four sessions is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. CST on March 3.
Three Northwestern College wrestlers won titles at the NAIA North National Qualifier/GPAC Championships held today in Crete, Neb.
Northwestern will travel to Waldorf for tonight's regular season finale against the Warriors. NWC has a 6-7 overall record while Waldorf has an 0-3 record heading into tonight's dual.

The Red Raider wrestling team will be taking nine wrestlers to take part in the Missouri Valley Invite in Marshall, Mo. this weekend. The event features 32 teams and over 400 wrestlers.
Northwestern College earned a hard-fought victory against conference foe Doane University, 21-18, in a dual held tonight at the Bultman Center.
Randy Null pinned James Jones at the 6:14 mark in the final match (285) to give Northwestern a 27-23 upset win over No.9 Midland at the NAIA Duals held in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Northwestern will wrestle in the Augie Duals on Saturday, facing three NCAA D2 schools. NWC will face Southwest Minnesota St., Augustana, and Truman St. in the event on the campus of Augustana in Sioux Falls, S.D.


Northwestern dominated DWU in a GPAC dual on Wednesday night. The Raiders received some help from the Tigers, who had five open weights. NWC picked up victories at every contested weight.
Northwestern will send eight wrestlers to Buena Vista on Saturday for the BVU Open. NWC is currently receiving votes in the NAIA national poll and are second in the North Qualifying group.
Northwestern opens the 2016-17 GPAC dual season on Tuesday night at Briar Cliff. Northwestern is coming off of a 8-4 season last year and a 5-2 GPAC dual season.
Elijah Dahl placed third at the UNK Open, going 7-1 on Saturday to reach the podium for the first time this season. Dante Preciado finished sixth after a 7-2 day.
Andras Lukacs-Farkas won the DWU Open on Saturday in the 174 weight class. Austin Boles (125) and Dante Preciado (141) each finished second while Randall Null (285) finished third.
Northwestern wrestling opens the season Saturday at the DWU Open in Mitchell, S.D. NWC will take 17 wrestlers to compete in the opening meet of the season. Last season, Zach Fishman won the 174 lb. weight class.
Six Raiders Earned All-GPAC Honors for their efforts this season including seniors Zach Fishman and Tyree Cox, who were named to the All-GPAC first team.

Northwestern is coming off of one of the more disappointing seasons in 2012-13, where they finished 2-12 in duals and 1-5 in GPAC duals. The Red Raiders, however, are poised for a big year on the mat.


Northwestern Travels to Concordia/Missouri Valley
This Thursday, the Raiders will travel to Seward, NE to take on the Bulldogs of Concordia. Following the dual on Thursday, the Raiders will split up on Saturday with some of the team traveling to Marshall, MO while others will compete in Worthington, MN.
Red Raiders Defeat Wayne State in Wrestling Dual
After a winless dual season in the first semester, the Raiders picked up a much needed win last night with a solid 30-21 dual victory against Wayne State. Still not up to full strength the Raiders put seven underclassmen on the mat to represent the Red and White and they brought home the win.
Northwestern Heads to Central Iowa For Weekend of Wrestling
This Friday the Red Raiders will be making a trip to central Iowa to do battle with the number one team in the country in the NAIA, the Grand View Vikings. After the dual, NWC will travel to Indianola to compete in the Simpson College Invite, which will feature DIII powerhouses, Wartburg and Coe College, in addition to Grand View University.
