Northwestern College cruised to a 90-50 home win over Midland on senior in a conference match-up played this afternoon at the Bultman Center.
The Red Raiders improve to 10-9 in the GPAC, 18-9 overall, with one game left in the regular season. Midland slips to 7-11 in conference play, 15-12 overall.
Four Northwestern players scored in double figures, led by Anna Kiel with 17 points, going 7-for-8 from the field, six rebounds and a career-high four assists. Kassidy De Jong scored 15 and pulled down seven rebounds and Renee Maneman scored 14 to go with a game-high eight assists. Paige Danner added 13 points, making 6-of-8 field goal attempts.
How It Happened...
Northwestern began the game with a 10-2 run and shot 70% in the opening quarter to race out to a 35-16 lead after the first 10 minutes. Eight different players scored for the hosts in the opening quarter as Northwestern outscored Midland 13-2 over the final three minutes.
The Red Raiders continued to pull away in the second quarter, stretching the lead to 25 (55-30) after baskets by Kiel and Maneman to close the half.
Northwestern outscored Midland 18-9 in third quarter, limiting the Warriors to just one field goal in the 10-minute period. The Red Raiders held a 73-39 at the break.
A jumper by Bailey Meadors gave Northwestern its first 40+ point lead (85-44) with three minutes left.

Maneman dished out eight assists and is just two shy of matching the Red Raider single season record of 204 held by Miranda Boekhout during the 2007-08 season; Maneman is tied with Jackie Olson for fourth place all-time with 472 career assists.
