Seventh-ranked Northwestern cruised to its third straight win, defeating Dakota Wesleyan 91-49 Wednesday night in the Bultman Center. The Red Raiders improved to 15-4 in the GPAC and will be the third seed in next week's eight-team postseason tournament. They are 21-6 overall. DWU dropped to 7-12 in the GPAC and will be the eighth seed in the postseason tournament. They are 16-13 overall.

Northwestern closed the first half on a 17-5 run to open up a 40-22 halftime lead. Kami Kuhlmann scored eight straight points to close the half and the Raider defense held DWU with two field goals over the final nine minutes, limiting the Tigers to 23% from the field.

The Red Raiders continue the run in the second half, scoring the first 11 points and led 51-22 after a jumper by Alli Dunkelberger. Northwestern then blew the game open with a 22-5 run and led by nearly 50 with under 10 minutes to go. They continued to dominate defensively, limiting DWU to just 26% from the floor.

Four NWC players scored in double figures, led by Kami Kuhlmann with 19 points, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Kendra De Jong scored 18 points and pulled down a season-high 18 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. Alli Dunkelberger scored 14, including two three-pointers, and Mallory Cunard netted a career-high 12 points, going 5-for-6 from the field.

Northwestern shot 52% from the field and made 8-of-21 three-pointers (38%). They outrebounded DWU 47-33 and committed just 12 turnovers. Kuhlmann led all players with six assists and Mel Babcock dished out four.

Dakota Wesleyan was led by Whitnee Clayton with nine points and four rebounds.

Northwestern will head to Fremont, Neb. to play Midland on Saturday, Feb. 18 for the final game of the regular season. They will then open GPAC tournament play at home on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6:00pm.
