Second-ranked Northwestern won its 13th straight game as they stormed past Dakota Wesleyan 108-56 Wednesday night in Mitchell, S.D. The Raiders improved to 17-0 in the GPAC, 26-1 overall with one game left in the regular season. Dakota Wesleyan slipped to 2-15 in the conference, 6-23 overall.

The Raiders led from the start and never trailed against the host Tigers. Northwestern opened the game on an 8-2 run and led 22-11 just seven minutes in after a three-pointer by Kami Kuhlmann. The Raiders built the lead up to 13 and then closed the half on an 11-5 run to carry a 51-34 advantage at the break.

Northwestern extended its lead to 32 (74-42) after a three-pointer by Becca Hurley and the Raiders defense took over from there, giving up just 14 points and four field goals over the final 12 minutes.

The Raiders shot 56% in both halves and had four players score in double figures, led by senior guard Becca Hurley with 27 points. Hurley missed just four field goals all night (11-15) and dished out six assists to go with five rebounds. Kami Kuhlmann scored 16 points and matched her career-high with seven assists. Kendra De Jong added 12 points and pulled down four rebounds while Makenzie Small scored a career-high 10 points off the bench. Both Mel Babcock and Val Kleinjan added nine points each. Northwestern outrebounded DWU 39-31, led by Babcock with seven. They forced the Tigers into 30 turnovers for the game.

DWU shot 40% for the game and was led by Kenzie Dvoracek with 12 points while Micaela Erickson added 10.

Northwestern will close the regular season at home against fourth-ranked USF on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6:30pm.
