Fourth-ranked Northwestern jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never trailed as they rolled to a 102-49 win over Dakota Wesleyan in GPAC women's basketball Wednesday night. With the win coupled with Briar Cliff's loss to Morningside, the Red Raiders clinched the second seed in the upcoming GPAC tournament that begins next week. They improved to 14-3 in the GPAC, 23-4. DWU slipped to 4-13 and 8-21.

The Red Raiders led 25-5 at the 11 minute mark and closed the half with a 25-7 run for an impressive 55-19 lead. With the starters sitting for most of the second half, Northwestern continued to roll and held a 90-33 advantage with just over eight minutes left. In the end, every Red Raider player scored and Northwestern eclipsed the century mark for the fourth time this season.

Northwestern shot 59% for the game, 45% from beyond the arc (9/20) and 13/15 (87%) from the free throw line. Four players scored in double figures, led by Becca Hurley with 20. The junior guard made 8-of-11 field goal attempts, including four three-pointers. Kami Kuhlmann went 8-for-10 from the floor en route to a 19 point effort. Kendra DeJong scored 13 and Kristin Neth netted a season-high 11, making all five of her field goal attempts. The Red Raiders dominated the glass, outrebounding DWU 40-22. DeJong and Randa Hulstein led the way with six boards each. Hulstein dished out a game-high seven assists.

Coach Woudstra's squad will host USF in the final game of the regular season this Saturday, Feb. 20 at 2:00pm. Saturday's contest will also be both parent's day and senior day for the Red Raiders two seniors, Randa Hulstein and Andrea Wedel.
