Erika Sage (Freeman, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College next year.
Sage is a 5’7” guard who is in her sixth year playing for the Freeman High School basketball team. A five-year starter, Sage earned first team all-state honors after averaging nearly 18 points per game as a junior. She currently ranks second all-time in career scoring at Freeman with 1,533 points, reaching the 1,000-point milestone as a junior, and is a four-time all-conference selection. Sage is averaging 19 points, five rebounds and three assists this season. An honor roll student, Sage plans to major in sports management at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Curtis and Kristina.
“We are excited to have Erika join the Red Raider women’s basketball program next fall,” commented head Northwestern coach Chris Yaw. “Erika is a great young lady who is driven to do well both in athletics and academics. She has had a good deal of success throughout her basketball career. Erika is a good shooter who also excels at attacking the basket.”
