Katie Vander Molen (Pella, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College.
Vander Molen is a 5’9” standout point guard who is in her fourth year starting for Pella Community High School. Vander Molen earned first team all-state honors after leading her team to a 4A state runner-up finish with a 23-3 overall record last year. She averaged 14 points, nearly four rebounds and three assists per game while also being named first team all-district and first team all-conference for the third consecutive season. Vander Molen was named to the 4A state all-tournament team in 2016 and scored her 1,000th career point earlier this season. She is currently averaging 11 points per game and leads Pella with 56 assists. A third team all-state selection in 2015, Vander Molen is a member of the National Honor Society and academic all-state team. She plans to major in Biology at Northwestern and is the daughter of Vern and Carla.
