Four Titles Won At GPAC Championships

Northwestern College athletes won four titles at the GPAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, a two-day event that concluded today in Fremont, Neb. 

Katie Bosch and Tim Rose both won an individual event today, taking first in the 800m and 1500m respectively. Bosch edged Justine Van Zee (Dordt) by just over a second in the 800, posting a time of 2:13.13. Rose claimed the 1500m title with a time of 3:52, less than a second faster than runner-up Danny Aldaba of Midland.

The Red Raiders finished fourth overall in the men's standings with 95 points while the women's team placed fifth, scoring 86.5 points. Doane University claimed both the men's and women's team titles with 219 and 217 points, respectively.

Northwestern athletes earned all-conference honors (finish in top eight) in 35 events, 17 for the women and 18 for the men. 

Bosch, Jahdai Dunk, Katie Landhuis, Kenzie Keune and Rebekah Muilenburg all took home all-conference honors in three events. Bosch won two events (4x800, 800m) and finished second in a very close 1500m race. Dunk finished third in the 100m, eighth in the 200m and was part of a 4x100 relay that finished fourth. Landhuis was part of the winning 4x800 relay on Friday night and then finished third in the 800m and fourth as a par of the 4x400 relay. Keune was the runner-up in the 400m hurdles, fifth in the 100m hurdles and was also part of the 4x400 relay that placed fourth. Muilenburg placed second in the 400m and was part of two relays (4x800 and 4x400). 

For the men's team, Tanner Goetsch, Peter Hollinger and Levi TeBrink all earned all-conference honors in three events. Goetsch was part of the winning 4x800 relay on Friday night and then placed fourth in the 1500m and fifth in the 5K this afternoon. Hollinger ran the anchor leg of the 4x800, finished third in both the 800m and 4x400. TeBrink placed seventh in the 400m and ran the anchor leg for the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. 

Six Red Raiders earned all-conference honors in two events; Kassidy De Jong, Hans Epp, Brady Butters, Will Norris, Tim Rose and Aaron Lemon.
