Allison Birks (Rockwell City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Northwestern College next fall. Birks will also play volleyball for the Red Raiders as noted in an earlier press release.
Birks is a gifted three-sport athlete who currently is in her fourth year competing for the South Central Calhoun track and field team. Birks is already a six-time state qualifier in track heading into her senior season, finishing eighth in the 100m as a junior. She has also qualified in the 200m, 4x200 and 4x100 relays. Birks has personal bests of 12.47 in the 100m, 26.61 in the 200m and 60.9 in the 400m. An all-state selection in volleyball and all-conference player in basketball, Birks is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in Biology/Athletic Training at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Dave and Jill.
“Allison is phenomenal sprinter who we are thrilled to have join us next year,” commented Northwestern track and field coach Scott Bahrke. “Allison loves to compete and has really strong work ethic. I feel that she will continue to get faster within our program and will be a great teammate who will help us improve.”
