Red Raiders Tied For Ninth After 54-Holes

Northwestern College shot a 301 in today’s 3rd round of the NAIA Men’s Golf Championship held at the TPC Deere Run Golf Club in Silvis, Ill.

In eighth place after a rain-delayed second round that concluded this morning, Northwestern is now tied for ninth out of 29 teams after 54 holes. The Red Raiders earned a spot in the final round for just the second time in program history. They have a 54 hole total of 915 (312/302/301) and are tied with Wayland Baptist, four strokes in back of Johnson & Wales (Fla.).

Two Northwestern golfers, Ryan Christy and Colton Kooima, are currently in the top 25 overall. Christy is tied for 19th with a 224, shooting an even-par 71 today. Kooima has a 54-hole total of 226 after back-to-back 76’s in the second and third rounds. The junior also recorded the second hole-in-one of his career, acing the 140-yard 16th hole today.

Justin Kraft is tied for 59th with a 233, carding a 77 today, and Austin Reitz is tied for 67th at 235. Evan Schuler sits just one stroke back with a 236.

Pairing and tee times are not available at this time for Friday’s final round.
