DeMarcus Benjamin (Houston, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College.
Benjamin is a 6’0”, 230-pound linebacker/defensive end who played three years for Manvel High School. Benjamin accounted for 42 total stops, 10 tackles for a loss and two fumble recoveries in leading his team to the state playoffs with a 14-1 overall record. He registered three sacks and 12 quarterback hurries in earning second team all-district honors for the second consecutive year. Benjamin is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in sports management/business marketing at Northwestern. He is the son of Anita Rainey.
“DeMarcus is an explosive defensive end who will excel in our scheme,” said head Northwestern coach Matt McCarty. “He was a standout playmaker for a very good high school football team. We are excited about the energy DeMarcus will bring to our team and program.”
