Starr To Run Cross Country, Track at Northwestern

Joshua Starr (Firth, Neb.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his cross country and track and field careers at Northwestern College next year.

Starr is a 5’11” distance runner who competed six years in cross country and three in track and field for both Norris High School and Community Christian. Starr qualified for the Minnesota state cross country meet as a junior and then placed ninth at the Nebraska State Cross Country meet his senior year. He has a personal best of 16:01 in the 5K. A member of the National Honor Society and Academic All-State team, Starr plans to major in business at Northwestern. He is the son of Mark and Monica.

“We are thrilled to have Josh join our men’s cross country and track teams for the 2017 season,” said head Northwestern cross country/track and field coach Scott Bahrke. “Josh had a breakout senior year in cross country and I believe he has great potential in college. Josh is a wonderful addition to our team and to the Northwestern campus community.”
